Art was my first graze with design, when I drew perspective drawings from my bed while trying to sleep as a teenager. Being a compulsive utilitarian at the time, I felt relief in the notion that my joy in art could be used to depict the built environment. "That must be what architects do" I thought. It still took me more than twenty years to make my way into an architecture studio.
